LEITNER GRENADIER COLLECTION: BEHIND THE DESIGN
Let’s start at the top: ACS ROOF. Our platform rack, Active Cargo System ROOF, is the strongest platform rack on the market for Grenadier. It can hold 250 pounds off road 500 lbs. on road and a 1,000-lb. "evenly distributed" static load. We offer the ACS ROOF for Grenadier in three-quarter and full-length options. Ours is the strongest because Letiner was the first to develop supports that tied directly into the Grenadier’s roll-bar frame structure and not to the drip rail or haphazardly clamped to the roof-mounted grab bars.
Many Grenadier owners reject a full-length rack because their rig was specified with Safari Windows. We are delighted to say ours is the only full-length rack on the market that is compatible with Safari Windows. That’s because the ACS ROOF’s load bars are infinitely adjustable; they’re not structural, as is the case with every other platform rack sold today. That means you can position the load bars precisely to your liking without compromising either your load-carrying capacity or your beloved safari windows.
A question we get often about ACS ROOF from Grenadier owners is, “Does it cause wind noise?” We are proud to say that the three-quarter rack is silent. And the full-length only causes a hint of wind noise above 80 mph.
We know how easy INEOS engineers made it to wire auxiliary lights to the roof of the Grenadier — the wiring is plumbed right to the roof. Bernhard Leitner worked hard to ensure that installing the lights themselves to the ACS ROOF would be just as easy. Any light you buy — be it Rigid Industries, Baja Designs, Cali Raised LED, you name it — has a steel mounting bracket as its base. Simply use that standard bracket and our TrakLok Bolt Kit to secure the light anywhere along the rack’s T-slot. In less than an hour, including unboxing the lights, you can install auxiliary lights on the ACS ROOF on your Grenadier.
If you’re the kind of overlander who prefers to run a rooftop tent instead of a platform rack, check out our Load Bar Kit. It uses the same billet aluminum supports as the ACS ROOF but our Leitner Load Bars mount atop them instead. If you use our Rooftop Tent Brackets, you can install — or uninstall — a rooftop tent in a matter of minutes. The Load Bar Kit is a great entry into the Leitner Designs Grenadier Collection because if you ever decide later to upgrade to the ACS ROOF, you can use the same billet supports and save time on the installation.
Next we want to present the other accessories Bernhard Leitner engineered for Grenadier that comprise the rest of the Leitner Designs Grenadier Collection. From accessories for ACS ROOF down to chase lights that bolt behind the factory rear recovery points, Bernhard Leitner created easy-to-install essentials that parity the Grenadier’s design and robustness.
The latest development in our Grenadier Collection are the Sidekick Accessory Panels. Like everything Leitner engineers, the Sidekick Accessory Panels are the strongest of their kind. As you can see in a video we posted to the company YouTube channel, each panel can hold 200 lbs off road. This weight capacity isn’t over engineering — panel deflection risks damaging your Grenadier’s paint or windows. Test the competitors’ panels, push on them with your hand. If they move or flex, you’ll run the risk of damaging your rig. By comparison, ours won’t budge.
Attaching gear to the Sidekicks couldn’t be easier; use the Grenadier’s L-track cleats, mount MAXTRAX or RotopaX with the pre-drilled holes, upgrade to the Jerry-Can Holder accessory for additional fuel-carrying capacity, or use the universal molle panel design to carry any number of third party accessories.
It’s worth noting that installing this current Sidekick Accessory Panel requires that your Grenadier have both the factory-installed “Tool Belt” as well as Leitner Designs billet aluminum stanchions that hold either the Load Bar Kit or the ACS ROOF.
Another super-useful accessory we developed for Grenadier is the HD Awning Bracket. Unlike others on the market, it’s universal and incredibly strong. Since it’s universal, you’re not forced into an awning by brand or another — you pick what’s right for your rig. No matter what awning you pick, our awning bracket can hold it. Please note that the HD Awning Bracket only works with the Load Bar Kit. This kit, along with the HD Awning Bracket, is the best setup for Grenadier owners who want to run a rooftop tent.
Finally, the Tire Relocation Bracket is a must-have for any Grenadier owner wanting to upgrade to oversize tires. You’ve seen how a 34-inch spare mounted on the rear door clears by a millimeter. My bracket is the only one on the market that relocates the spare 1-¾ inches to the right and 1-¾ inches outboard but also 1-¾ inches upward. That upward relocation is key because it leaves the rear-view camera unobscured by a larger tire. Every other tire relocation bracket for Grenadier puts oversize tires directly into the vision of the camera. Don’t compromise your safety for larger tires, pick up the Leitner Tire Relocation Bracket today. It installs in a matter of minutes and will prevent you from accidentally backing your rig into things.
We developed a suite of other accessories for the Grandier, too, including:
● Front Bumper Light Bar for utilizing your rig’s 25-amp accessory light switch.
● Scene Light Brackets make utilizing the factory power ports in the roof super simple.
● Chase Light Brackets to securely mount lights low for increased visibility on the trail.
