Austin Collins is an avid waterfowler, upland hunter, outdoor storyteller, and content creator based in Texas. Alongside her British Labrador retriever, Birdie, she spends much of the year exploring backroads, traveling cross-country, and chasing outdoor adventures ranging from waterfowl hunts and dog training events to beach trips along the Texas coast.

While Austin didn’t grow up hunting, she discovered a passion for the outdoors as an adult and has spent the last several years building a lifestyle centered around hunting, conservation, travel, and the bond she shares with her dog. Together, Austin and Birdie have hunted across North America and traveled internationally to destinations including South Africa, Namibia, and Argentina.

Her Toyota Tundra serves as both a daily driver and adventure rig, outfitted with a Leitner ACS rack system that has become the foundation of her setup. Whether she’s loading gear for a duck hunt, hauling equipment for a dog training weekend, or packing for a trip to Port Aransas, the modularity of the Leitner system allows her to adapt the truck to whatever adventure comes next.

One of Austin’s favorite accessories is the HydroPOD, which has become an essential part of traveling with Birdie. After muddy retriever training sessions, waterfowl hunts, or long days at the beach, it provides an easy way to rinse off muddy paws, sand-covered feet, and gear before heading home. Combined with her GearPODs and rooftop tent setup, the Leitner system helps keep everything organized, secure, and ready for the road.

When she’s not hunting or training Birdie, Austin can often be found playing mahjong, fishing the Texas coast, or sharing authentic product reviews, travel stories, and outdoor experiences through social media, long-form articles, and her blog. Her approach focuses on real-world use, honest feedback, and helping others find gear that enhances their time outdoors.

Austin believes the best stories happen outside and enjoys inspiring others, especially women, to pursue new experiences, build confidence in the outdoors, and create adventures of their own.
