LEITNER ACS-OUTFITTED MAVERICK WINS BIG AWARDS AT CARLISLE FORD NATIONALS
Intro
If you’ve never heard of the Carlisle Ford Nationals, it’s the largest car show in the nation. This year, there were more than 3,400 vehicles on display. One of which was a friend of the Leitner Designs brand, the Editor of Petersen’s Bowhunting, Christian Berg.
Berg proudly put on display his new Ford Maverick, which he outfitted for bowhunting in the backcountry as well as serving as his daily driver. Of the many modifications Berg made, one of the most significant was the installation of the new Active Cargo System (ACS) Forged for Ford Maverick. You can read more about the ACS Forged for Maverick here.
In addition to the ACS Forged, Berg also bolted up a set of Eibach lift springs, four Fifteen52 wheels, and a set of Firestone Destination A/T2 tires. The result was a transformation worthy of two key awards, including one from Tim Bartz, aka “The Ford Video Guy” from Long-McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas.
For those unfamiliar with Bartz, he has a strong YouTube presence through the dealership. What’s more, his personal channel is particularly revered among Maverick aficionados, which brings extra credibility to Berg’s wins.
“I can say – without a doubt – that the No. 1 thing that really turns heads to my truck is the ACS Forged rack and pods,” said Berg. “Many, many people stopped over the course of the weekend to learn more about the rack system, get a first-hand look at the GearPODS, HydroPOD, and universal mounting options. Most were generally amazed at how versatile a small truck like the Maverick can be when fitted with smart accessories such as those offered by Leitner Designs.”
Carlisle Ford Nationals
Carlilse Ford Nationals is likely the largest single gathering of Mavericks to date, with roughly 45 or more over the course of the three-day event. At one point on Saturday, there were 42 Mavs parked on the show field at one time, spanning the range from lowered to lifted and hybrids to Tremor Ecoboosts.
Of all the impressive builds on hand, aside from Berg’s Mav, no other Maverick one more than a single award, adding even more credibility to the build.
“Being my first auto show, I really didn’t know what to expect. But I came away really impressed by the whole experience,” said Berg. “While winning some awards is awesome, I am even more happy about all the new friends I made and the great reception my truck and fellow Mavericks received from the larger Ford community. I’m already looking forward to 2024!”
Patented Design
Among Leitner’s nine patents, two innovations helped perfect the Active Cargo System: The sliding rear load bar, which allows owners to fit taller items in their truck without removing the rack, and side-mounted GearPods that offer indispensable eye-level, locking storage. Customers are able to install additional utility and storage features on the ACS Forged throughout ownership thanks to Leitner’s ever-growing line of accessories.
The Leitner Designs ACS Forged rack for Ford Maverick is available now and priced at $1,950, including a two-year limited warranty. Buyers can find more information online at www.leitnerdesigns.com/products/shop-all-active-cargo-system
